Webby Wednesday

Posted by dani cass on June 17th, 2009

Welcome to Webby Wednesday! I thought I would share some of the great things I’ve found on the Internet recently.

The first site I accidentally stumbled across is called ‘Don’t Click It’. I absolutely love this idea and hope that it can be implemented into more websites. Basically, ‘Don’t Click It’ introduces a new way of navigating a website; rather than using the mouse to click on links, you use different mouse movements to activate different actions – never once clicking the mouse!
Check it out at http://www.dontclick.it/ and let me know what you think.

Now anyone that knows me will have called me a ‘Twitter Bore’ at least once! I love Twitter!
Twitter, often described as a website for over-sharers, is growing in popularity and is one of the most mentioned social networking website around. Not only is Twitter great for meeting new (and lovely) people, it is also growing in popularity as a marketing tool for businesses. More and more companies are asking for their Tweets to be integrated into their websites because it makes their service more personal and allows them to be more accessible to their clients. If you aren’t already on Twitter, what are you waiting for? Its Twitterrific :D www.twitter.com or if you are already on Twitter, you can follow us at www.twitter.com/studio2online

So, you are now thinking about how social networking can help your business, check out this link to find the 50 social networking site every business should have a presence on http://www.insidecrm.com/features/50-social-sites-012808/

Have you ever wondered who the first SPAM email was from or what it said? Wonder no more dear readers, his name was Gary Thuerk and you can read all about it here: http://www.templetons.com/brad/spamreact.html
It makes you realise just what a fine line it is between email marketing and spamming, but knowing the correct way to present your email marketing campaigns can stop your emails going straight into the ‘trashcan’ and increase your chances of being read. I will post some tips later in the week.

And finally, a few fun sites to end the day with:

I Can Has Cheezburger? Lots of pretty pictures of cats with amusing captions – I spend more time on this site than is normal for a grown up! http://icanhascheezburger.com/

Probably one of the most pointlessly addictive games I’ve played in a while, Hover http://www.mindjolt.com/games/hover I’m on the leader board, can you beat me? Bet you cant ;)

Have a great rest of the week!
