Search Engine Optimisation > Duplicate content is bad. Duplicate content is bad. Duplicate content…

Posted by admin on December 15th, 2009

Did you know that duplicate content on the Internet can have a huge negative impact on your search engine optimisation campaign? Duplicate content can come from a number of different places and the way each is dealt with varies…

  1. Duplicate internal pages – If your site has duplicate pages, the best method is to choose one as the main copy, and then use a 301 redirect to take users to the same copy.
  2. If you have the same paragraph of content located on a number of your sites pages, you can place it within an IFrame  to reduce the chances of it being viewed as duplicate conent by the search engines.
  3. After you have sent out a press release, it could possibly appear on another site and be counted as duplicate content on your site. Make sure you are credited as the original author of the article to avoid this happening.

If you need help making sure your website stands out, then as a leading search engine marketing company, and the only SEMPO Platinum awarded SEO agency in the UK, we know what can work for your business.
