Search Engine News – Google gets tuneful
Posted by admin on October 30th, 2009
Google users in the US can now search more efficiently for music using a new Google feature which has recently launched.
As anyone with more than a passing interest in search engine optimisation knows, Google’s search results are based on ever changing algorithms which are used to produce relevant results for search words.
This new feature now allows users to search for music in a variety of ways, such as song title, album name, or even by entering the lyrics of a song that you know, or a least the bit you remember and repeat over and over again! (Yes, you know who you are)
Not only will this new search feature help people find the music they like, but it’s also capable of helping people discover brand new bands and singers. Google have formed a partnership with MySpace and Lala, so that the search results will include links to audio previews of songs, so one simple search could help you find your new favourite band – cool!
This is a perfect example of how valuable search engine’s when it comes to brand awareness (or is that band awarenes?). Successful search engine optimisation is the major factor in ranking well with the leading search engines, of which Google is the big daddy.
Let’s hope Google launch this service in the UK soon, because I’d love to know the lyrics to the tune I’ve been humming the last few days!!
