Search Engine News > Google get their fade on

Posted by david.morris on December 9th, 2009

When considering a Search Engine Optimisation campaign, the results you get will vary between the three major search engines; Google, Yahoo! and Bing. With a vast majority of users favouring Google as their search engine of choice, it’s nice to have recently noticed that Google are often working to improve the Google search experience for its users.

I wonder how many of you have recently spotted the new and improved Google feature?

It’s a blink and you’ll miss it moment, but they have added a ‘fade in’ which is described as a way of providing options to those that want them, whilst removing any distractions for everyone else. When you first arrive at the Google homepage, all that you will see is the classic Google logo and the search box, into which you can enter your search and get your results. But if you’re looking for more, move your mouse and the different Google applications become visible.

Although it is only a minor change, it’s nice to know that Google are always looking at improving the experience of using the most popular search engine, after all a lot of our Search Engine Optimisation efforts are targeted directly towards Google…so it’s nice to know they are thinking of us to!
