Highest ever Christmas online sales

Well, the predictions came true: the recent festive period saw online sales outperform the high street by eight to one, and all this in what has been described as the worst Christmas for retailers in the past decade. There was a 20% increase in online sales during the run-up to Christmas compared with the same period last year, and the total online spend was around £3 billion – that’s nearly 7% of all UK retail sales, with half the UK population doing at least some of their Christmas shopping online.
