Surfing the web …… we’ve all done it, clicked on a website, taken one look and left. In fact a staggering 50% of visitors to a typical website leave within 8 seconds. The reason? You can answer this yourself ……… because a lot of websites out there in cyberspace are BORING, dull, lacking relevant information, complicated, or loaded up front with wizzy flash animation that either take forever to load, or bore you to death. They just do nothing to tempt you to stay, or if you do, have no enticement for you to do anything, to get involved.

Why is this? Because too many website owners and website designs forget the fundamental fact that the Internet is primarily an information gathering tool. When a visitor comes to your website they are only interested in what they want, what their needs are and what you can provide to answer their questions. And they want that information fast, without having to weave their way through loads of pretty flash animation, or dig around your sitemap to find what they want. 8 seconds is all you have to capture their interest, give them a reason to stop on your site. If not, whoosh, they’re off surfing again.

Use your website to build relationships with visitors, not to tell them all about you, but to give them the information they are looking for.
