Window Wallpaper are a Leicester based supplier of glass window film including decorative window film and frosted glass film. Window Wallpaper is a very thin, self adhesive vinyl film, specially designed to give the appearance of frosted or etched glass. Window Wallpaper is bespoke, affordable and extremely easy to install (if you don’t believe me, check out their how to install page!). Window films are long lasting and are a cost effective alternative to replacing windows in order to gain added privacy.

Not only do they supply a range of bespoke and budget privacy window films, they also provide a wide range of decorative window film including modern and traditional designs suitable for both windows and doors.

Window Wallpaper, a long term client with Studio 2 Online, already had an existing ecommerce website which we built for them many years ago but when they heard about the great features available with a Magento website they decided to rebuild their website in the Magento system and at the same time to give the website a fresh new look. Window Wallpaper also decided that this was the perfect time to sign up for a search engine campaign.

The most important thing when rebuilding the website was to give it a cleaner look so that the products were the main focus of the site, to make the website easier to navigate and to ensure that customers could find the information they required quickly and easily.

The first thing we did was to reduce the amount of information on the homepage by splitting the products available into 4 main categories, Patterned frosted window film, House number or name window film, Value frosted window film and Plain frosted privacy window film; this meant that we could display larger product images and then use the hover over to expand the box to provide additional information.

Each of the four picture menu’s (as well as the text side menu) link to their own product gallery for that style of window film, again the gallery of products has the hover over feature to give a larger, clearer view of the product.

To give customers a better idea of how the products look when installed, Window Wallpaper have included a gallery of different window films in use on different glass surfaces around various homes.

Clicking on any of these example images opens up a larger slide of the image whilst darkening the rest of the website to give a better focus on the product.

By clicking onto a product on the shopping gallery, you will be taken to an individual order page for that specific design of window film.

The truly great thing about the Magento system is demonstrated here, prices can be generated for bespoke items based purely on the item specifics such size. Window Wallpaper have also included a special offer on their window films, Buy 2 or more exactly the same and save 10%, this is automatically calculated when the item is ordered making it quick, easy and budget friendly for their customers!

The website also includes the basket details on the right hand menu so you can not only see how much you have spent so far, you can also see how many items are in your basket and a preview image of the item. If you find a product you like better, you can remove the one you want to replace by simply clicking the cross next to the item, removing the item from your basket without even leaving the page you’re on.

When you have finished shopping, the checkout on the site allows you to checkout as a guest or to register for an account.

By checking out as a guest, you can quickly complete the checkout process without having your personal information stored. If you plan to become a regular shopper, registering for an account can save you time in the future.

As a registered user you have your own individual dashboard:

You can store multiple billing and shipping addresses, you can also view previously ordered items and reorder them. Going through the checkout process as a registered user means that you can select billing and shipping details from a drop-down of your stored contact details, making the whole paying process much faster.

It is not only the system features that make the Magento ecommerce system so great, changing the Window Wallpaper website over to the Magento ecommerce system has much improved the site speed which is especially important as Google rankings are now linked to site speed.

The speed of the new ecommerce website, together the search engine promotion services provided by Studio 2 Online have already seen the Window Wallpaper website climb to the top spot on Google, which as you can see from Patrick’s quote has driven much more business to the website and given them their best month ever!

Flying Spares are the market leader for original, aftermarket, reconditioned and recycled parts for all post-war models of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars. Flying Spares are the first member of the Rolls-Royce & Bentley Specialists Association (RRBSA) to deal entirely in parts, rather than restoration work.

Flying Spares aims include the exchange of knowledge relating to Rolls-Royce and Bentley, to liaise with, and share the manufacture of unobtainable parts and to achieve and maintain the highest standards. Studio online created an online catalogue for Flying Spares which we believe allows them to continue to share their expert knowledge as well as provide difficult to source or unobtainable parts.

The website design on the main page was created to emulate the look and feel of the interior of one of the classic cars that Flying Spares specialises in. The scrolling news ticker allows you to easily view ‘parts just in’ and all of their latest news.

Their online catalogue was built in Magento, offering them all of the functionality of an ecommerce website as well as the ability to make an enquiry for parts and accessories online. The website includes a rollover basket feature so that customers can easily see which items they have added to their basket. Also, if you are a regular customer with Flying Spares, they will reward your loyalty with their tiered discounting system, details of which are shown on the customers’ unique login section.

Once orders have been completed, Flying Spares are able to provide an invoice which allows customers to make a payment through a special Protx payment page.

The website is easy to navigate, with the left hand column listing each of the 6 models, also in the parts & prices section, the pages include a special drop down menu for each year range listing its own individual list of available parts and accessories.

The website includes its own built in forum, including sections for technical issues, news and events; this forum is fast becoming an invaluable source of information for Rolls-Royce & Bentley enthusiasts worldwide.

Whilst we were building the website we made it search engine friendly by completing basic search engine optimisation, not only will this better improve search engine rankings for Flying Spares but should they decide to run a full search engine optimisation campaign, the foundations have already been laid to build upon.

The website is hosted on its own dedicated server providing faster loading times, this is now especially important as Google are taking site speed into consideration in their rankings! Google encourages you to start looking at your site’s speed to not only to improve your search engine rankings, but also to improve everyone’s experience on the Internet.

Urban Knit offer a fun (and in my opinion very gorgeous) range of knitwear including socks and leg warmers, suitable for any time of the year. The bright colours and patterns have incorporated perfectly into the website design creating a visually stunning site.

The ecommerce website was built using Magento so it includes lots of great functionality. Some of my favourite features are the sliding image zoom that allows you can see the items at exactly the right size, the hover over shopping basket that shows you the products you’re buying and how much you’re spending, and the previously viewed items, conveniently displayed at the bottom of the page so you can always find your way back to that awesome product you were so very tempted to buy…

Their parent company Buffalo Socks (http://www.buffalo-socks.co.uk/) has been providing socks and hosiery to many of the big name retailers for over 7 years. Great news for the retailers then, the Urban Knit website has a special trade section offering even more products with special trade prices!

Urban Knit proudly announces on their homepage that they love their product, and so does everyone else! Take a look at their Media page to see them featured in magazines, newspapers and website articles for top publications including Harpers Bazaar, Elle and Notion.

Urban Knit is Buffalo Socks’ new, innovative knitwear brand offering people individual, trend led products.

Twitter is a great site for meeting new people, swapping useful information and um… some not so helpful information (such as the daily pictures of one Twitter friends thumb!), anyway, even I was surprised the other day when I visited and noticed that ‘Ecommerce’ was a trending topic.

Clicking the link, I found that it was trending because people were retweeting an online article called 15 common mistakes in ecommerce design and how to avoid them.

We took a unique approach to the design and content of this website. Following discussions with the client it was agreed early into the project that the people the website really needed to communicate with were the families of those who were in need of care eg. the sons and daughters of the residents, as they would ultimately be the ones making the final decisions – so the website needed to help them feel as comfortable and informed about the caring nursing environment their loved one’s would be in as possible.

Although a traditional design in keeping with the ethos of quality care and respect for its residents that Friary Fields offers, the website is easy to navigate so that visitors can find the information they are looking for quickly.
